On September 12th we are hosting at Eagle Church a free movie event to watch "To Save A Life." The idea behind the movie is to show the struggles that teenagers face everyday. This movie deals with cutting, abortion, alcoholism, suicide, and so many other topics and the goal to showing the film is to help students to begin to ask the question, "what is my life going to be about?" We believe that this is a great opportunity for our students to begin wrestling with that question as we know they will begin to face these things in their lives.
This movie plays a perfect role with our middle school ministry. The movie asks, "what is my life going to be about" and Jesus tells us that He has come so that we might have life and have it to full. That we can have a more and better life than we could ever dream of. We hope to use this as an opportunity to reach out to not only our students who are connected in our church but also with their friends.
Life is a very real thing, and i think a lot of times our students do not grasp what that means or even that our lives go beyond high school and middle school. It is hard because at the time we feel like that is our whole life, but we need to encourage and empower our students to see the bigger picture of their lives and the lives around them. So i want to encourage each of you to come out to this event and help our students as we begin to help them figure out what their lives are about! Hope to see you there September 12th, 5:30-8pm @ Eagle Church!
